PROFILE

Janos Biro

Born in Baja, Hungary, Janos' interest in art was already evident at a very young age. He started to draw and paint when he was just a kid. He studied Art in school and continually learned from contemporary artists wherever he lived and travelled. One other thing he developed a passion for is photography, which he learned and loves to this day.

Janos made sculptures, figurines, medallions, paintings and had a few exhibits in Hungary and the old Jugoslavia between the years 1968 to 1972. At some point, he couldn't stand the political system in his native country and decided to leave and take that chance to explore more about himself and his art. He spent one year in Paris and Italy, and illustrated two books of verse, 1979 in Paris, 1982 in Chicago for Hungarian writers.

In 1980 he called New York his home, where, in order to support himself and to afford the high cost of living in New York, he worked as a jeweller and jewelry designer. After two decades, he returned to Hungary and had a big jubilee exhibit.

As Janos puts it, "Now, I want to let everyone see my world through on my works - with true love of Art."
