Chantelle Ashby is only 24 years old but has the experience of someone in their sixties.
Chantelle stared singing professionally at age 11 where she started singing in local bars and restaurants. Her first studio recording and CD single “What Did You Put In That Kiss” was done at the age of 12. Chantelle followed up with performing throughout Metro Toronto and the southern Ontario region at numerous music events in Canada.
Chantelle became recognized for her youthful tribute to Aretha Franklyn and Patsy Cline.
She continued to impress audiences at an early age. When she was 15, Chantelle performed at the “National Telethon Variety Club” “Show Of Hearts” which featured country stars farmer daughter “Patricia Conray” and others.
At age 16 Chantelle was offered a record deal with the country label “Blue Ridge Records”. With that she recorded the CD single “I Didn’t Fall In Love”. The song was then released in January of 2002 by “Hillcrest Records” “Pure Country #6” to country radio across Canada, Australia and throughout Europe. The single reached top ten status in numerous European and Australian markets.
By the time Chantelle was 20 she had already won many talent shows such as, “Okanagan Star Search”, Okanagan Idol” and many more. She sang for many charities and opened for stars like “Alan Jackson”, “Reba Macintyre”, “Joe Nichols” and others. During that time, she was also writing and recording songs with “Sky Z Limit Records” of “Swak Management” when she was then nominated for “Best New Artist Of The Year 2003” in Kelowna, B.C. and appeared in articles of ”Scorpion Entertainment Magazine”.
At 22 Chantelle was offered as a job in the U.S.A. with “Alan Freed Productions”, the oldest Rock & Roll Company in the world, as a lead singer in a Motown group called “The Knockouts”. Chantelle has made promotional appearances with “The Knockouts” opening for legendary stars such as “The Drifters”, “The Marcels”, “The Contours”, “The Tams”, “Danny & The Juniors”, “Bill Haley’s Comets” and even comedian “Pat Cooper”.

Recently Chantelle was featured in “WTCB” (Women Taking Care Of Business) women’s article and website as the first “Moxy Woman” of the month and honored as a young female artist.
Today Chantelle is 24 and working on a new CD that expresses her soul and blues side with a fun twist.
